Max Tischler (b. 2004) is a printmaker and photographer from Santa Fe, New Mexico who is currently studying in Chicago at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The vast, sweeping landscapes of New Mexico in stark contrast to his current metropolitan environment in Chicago have shaped his visual language. He maneuvers through this abutment of natural fractal tensions and the density of energy in the city, translating these qualities into photographs, illustrations, and prints. Relationships and physical structures, regardless of their presented solidity, are in a constant state of flux. Through his prints and photographs Max approaches each medium with concern for their respective qualities and uses these qualities in order to shape and package his observations of things around him.
